Budden is on the money

By Press Gazette

Rob Budden has been made personal finance editor of the Financial
Times, heading up the team that covers pensions, savings and equity and
bond investments. He is in charge of FT Money in the Weekend FT, as
well as all personal finance coverage on FT.com

Previously he was the FT’s telecommunications correspondent after joining the paper in 1999 as a personal finance writer.

Nim Caswell, deputy managing editor, said: “People are looking
forward to ever-longer periods in retirement – yet consumer distrust of
pensions and investments is near an all-time high following a wave of
scandals, from split capital trusts to mortgage endowments.

“Rob’s
wide experience means he is ideally placed to lead the FT Money team in
cutting through complexities and offering readers the clear unbiased
information they need to make those important financial decisions.”

Budden replaces Kevin Brown, who has been made Asia news editor.
