Archant profits up

Archant’s magazine division boosted its revenue by 32.4 per cent in 2003, helped by the success of its county magazines.

The privately owned regional newspaper and magazine publisher’s annual report revealed that the Archant Lifestyle magazine division increased revenue to £25.5m in 2003.

Profits grew by 350 per cent to £2m.

Archant publishes 16 county magazines such as Cotswolds Life and Devon Life and its consumer titles include Pilot and Photography Monthly.

It publishes four daily regional newspapers, 85 weekly titles and 60 magazines.

Pre-tax profits for 2003 were up 13.9 per cent to £27.8m on turnover up eight per cent to £158m.
