Editor of Irish Sun Paul Clarkson replaces Stig Abell as The Sun’s managing editor

By John Reynolds

The editor of the Irish Sun Paul Clarkson has been appointed as The Sun’s new managing editor, replacing Stig Abell who has become editor of News UK’s literary title TLS.

Clarkson is a long-standing journalist, unlike Abell who was not a journalist but a director of the Press Complaints Commission before taking on the role of managing editor of The Sun.

During his tenure as managing editor, Abell would on occasion edit the paper.
