Publisher Future has appointed two editorial directors for its newly-created magazine division.
Matt Pierce (pictured right) has taken on responsibility for Future’s design, games and photography titles and Paul Newman (pictured left) for film, music and technology.
The publisher is now split into two divisions: the magazine division, covering print publications and their digital versions, and the media division, comprising its websites. Future publishes 30 “core” monthly titles and 150 different magazines overall.
Pierce’s move comes after spending three years leading content and marketing in Future’s photography and design portfolios. He was previously editor of PC Gamer and group publisher of other titles including the Official PlayStation Magazine, Ede and GamesMaster.
He said: “As well as continuing to oversee our market-leading photography and design portfolios, I’m delighted to be working across Future’s fantastic games titles again. I can’t wait to help the editorial teams take their brands from strength to strength.”
Newman was previously group editor-in-chief of Future’s technology group.
He said: “Reports of the magazine’s demise have been greatly exaggerated and I am therefore massively looking forward to helping the talented teams responsible for iconic brands such as Total Film, Guitarist and T3 take their titles to new heights”.
