Time Out New York editor-in-chief Terri White is to move across the Atlantic to take over Empire magazine.
White replaces Morgan Rees, who left Bauer Media earlier this summer after being named as Empire editor-in-chief last October.
Rees, a former Men's Health editor, has moved on to a board-level position as a content director of a new media company, which has not been named.
He has signed an NDA with his new employers at the time so didn’t disclose the name of the company.
White, who will report to publishing director Liz Martin, was formerly executive editor of Life and Style, editor of Shortlist, editor of The Sun's Buzz and deputy editor of Maxim.
She said: “Not many jobs could have coaxed me back from New York. In fact, there was only ever one: editing Empire.
"I am beyond excited to be joining the biggest, best, boldest film brand in the entire world and working with the most talented team in the business, bar none. 2016 is going to Empire's biggest year yet.
"There are exciting times ahead. Watch this space."
