An apology to the Spectator staff whose lie-ins have been ruined

By Axegrinder

Axegrinder would like to issue an apology on behalf of Press Gazette to The Spectator staff whose lie-ins have been ruined.

Word reaches me that BBC presenter Andrew Neil (pictured), who is chairman of the weekly political title, has told staff they must have a new story online each day by 9am.

Why? Because he read Press Gazette's interview with the Guido Fawkes team, which reported that that they aim to have a story ready for a 9 o'clock traffic peak.

Oddly, Guido appeared to have broken its own rule today, not publishing anything until 10.17am.

Axegrinder suspects this may not be unrelated to the fact that Guido deputy Harry Cole's leaving drinks were held last night.
