Buzzfeed is to stream a live interview with the Prime Minister (pictured, Reuters) on its Facebook page.
David Cameron will be speaking to the website’s deputy UK editor and political editor Jim Waterson from 6.30pm next Monday, 16 March.
According to the Daily Mail’s Ephraim Hardcastle column, Cameron said at a No 10 drinks Christmas party at the end of last year: “I’m 48. What’s ‘the BuzzFeed’?”
The website said the streamed interview is the first “international edition” of Buzzfeed Brews.
A statement from the site said:
“BuzzFeed News announced today that Deputy UK Editor Jim Waterson will interview Prime Minister David Cameron live from London on Monday the 16th of March (18:30 GMT).
“The interview marks the first international edition of BuzzFeed’s popular series that puts a twist on the traditional interview form, hosting conversations with political leaders, actors, and comedians.
“Past guests BuzzFeed has interviewed include Jerry Seinfeld, Sir Ian McKellen and Sir Patrick Stewart, Daniel Radcliffe, and U.S. Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi. This is BuzzFeed News’ first interview with the Prime Minister.
“The interview will be streamed live at facebook.com/BuzzFeedUK.
“Press should reach out to pr@buzzfeed.com with questions.”
