The BBC Trust has resolved a three-year-old complaint about an item on Radio 4's Today programme after a series of "delays and mishandling".
The broadcaster's governing body said there had been breaches relating to accuracy and impartiality in the five-minute Today report in June 2011, which was about the 1967 war between Israel and its Arab enemies.
One person complained that the report about the Six Day war "misled the audience on material facts relating to the amount of territory currently occupied by Israel and about Israel’s willingness to exchange land for peace".
The BBC Trust ruled that a number of errors in the report meant that "due weight had not been correctly applied". It also ruled that "there had been a breach of accountability, because the complaint had not been dealt with in a timely manner".
