Peter Carbery has been named editor of the Daily Star Sunday after spending two months as acting editor.
According to his LinkedIn page, Carbery has been at the Sunday tabloid since 2002. He initially joined as night editor, before becoming assistant and then deputy editor.
Before moving to the Star, Carbery worked as a sports reporter for the London Irish News and Irish Post. He was also Irish sports production editor at The Sunday Times.
He takes on the role after former Sunday editor Gareth Morgan was made head of digital across Express Newspapers.
The Daily Star Sunday have also announced that Stuart James, previously assistant editor (production), is now deputy editor.
The announcement comes on the same day that The Sun on Sunday unveiled Victoria Newton as its first editor.
