Trinity Mirror uses centralised picture archive to produce eight regional nostalgia magazines

By Press Gazette

Trinity Mirror has decided to capitalise on the huge photographic archives in its regional newspaper titles by launching a series of nostalgia magazines featuring words, pictures and headlines going back over 150 years.

The project began earlier this year, after Trinity Mirror decided to centralise all of its photographic archives into one library in Watford.

The Frame by Frame series comprises eight magazines featuring pictures which capture scenes from the 19th and 20th century in Birmingham, Coventry, Huddersfield, Manchester, Newcastle, North Wales, South Wales and Teesside.

Each magazine contains more than 150 images: from steam railways and seaside fun in North Wales to heavy industry and manufacturing in Birmingham.

More magazines and a series of digital editions are planned for release by the end of the year.

The magazines are available, priced £4.99, from newsagents and via the Mirror Collection website.
