Press agency Barcroft Media is suing a former employee alleging that she paid herself more than £92,000 from the company account.
Account manager Katie Crilly is accused of transferring the money into two of her accounts between July 2009 and August 2010.
A High Court claim form seen by Press Gazette was issued against her in March this year and Barcroft is suing her for the £92,000 with interest. This means she faces a total bill of £104,682.50.
Crilly denies the claims made against her.
She told Press Gazette: “I am defending all of the allegations that have been made against me and have been advised not to make any further comment until the case is resolved.”
Press Gazette understands Crilly is also facing criminal charges over the allegations.
Barcroft Media is an international agency that sells stories, pictures and footage to publications, websites and broadcasters in 50 countries over the world.
