The Guardian has revealed a shake-up which sees Georgina Henry take over from Janine Gibson as head of Guardian.co.uk.
Gibson is heading over to New York to head-up The Guardian’s latest push into the United States.
Henry was deputy editor of The Guardian from 1996 to 2006 before launching the website Comment is Free. In May 2010 she which made head of culture across GNM.
Also joining Gibson in the US will be Adam Gabbat, who will be The Guardian’s New York Live blogger,executive producer Aidan Geary, deputy production editor Tim Hill and managing editor Nell Baose – The Guardian reports.
Guardian blogs editor Matt Wells , reporter Karen McVeigh and sports blogs editor Steve Busfield are also relocating to New York.
According to the latest ABCe figures, The Guardian now attracts more than 50 million unique browsers a month worldwide – making it the second most popular UK-based newspaper website.
