A Hull Daily Mail reporter whose work helped convict a rapist has been honoured for uncovering vital evidence of the crime which took place 26 years ago.
Mail reporter Nicky Harley has won the High Sheriff’s Award for her help bringing Kevin Moloney to justice, her paper reported today.
The honorary Recorder of Hull and the East Riding Judge Michael Mettyear bestowed the award on Harley after she tracked down a retired detective who worked on the original investigation back in 1985 and found out that he had photographs of the crime scene which revealed discrepancies in the defence case.
