The People newspaper has apologised to Loose Women presenter Denise Welch and her actor husband Tim Healy over an article published last summer.
The apology, headlined “Denise Welch & Tim Healy – an apology”, appeared on page two of the Trinity Mirror newspaper this weekend.
The apology said:
“On 8 August 2010 we published an article about a charity event held in aid of the Children’s Heart Unit at the Freeman Hospital.
“We said that Denise Welch gave an interview to us about personal issues concerning her marriage to Tim Healy.
“We accept that she did not say those things to us and we apologise to both of them for what was published.”
