Donald Martin, editor of DC Thomson’s Sunday Post, is extending his responsibilities to become editor-in-chief of four of the publisher’s newspapers.
In addition to editorship of the Post and his role as editor-in-chief of The Weekly News, Martin will now take overall control of morning title, The Courier, and evening title, the Evening Telegraph.
Martin was appointed editor of the Sunday Post in January after having served as editor-in-chief of Glasgow’s Herald and Sunday Herald newspapers since December, 2008.
He then took on the additional responsibility of editing the Sunday Post’s sister title The Weekly News earlier this month following the early retirement of its previous editor David Burness.
According to Allmediascotland.com, an internal memo was sent to staff at DC Thompson that Courier editor Bill Hutcheon and Evening Telegraph editor Richard Prest would now report directly to Martin.
