Former Daily Mirror editor Piers Morgan is set to sign a £10m three-year deal with CNN in the next few days, according to The Sun.
The deal would see Morgan take over from 76-year-old Larry King in the prime-time big interview slot on the US-based rolling news channel.
The Guardian rather unkindly describes the news in one of its blogs as “proof that there is no God”.
The Telegraph reports that King’s ratings have flagged to just 771,000 viewers. He has been presenting his talkshow on CNN since 1985.
