People trust radio news over TV, net and papers – says Ofcom

By admin

Radio is the most trusted provider of reliable and accurate news, a study by Ofcom has found.

The broadcasting watchdog’s Media Literacy survey found that 66 per cent of adults claimed they trusted the information broadcast on the radio – more than any other news and information source.

Television reports were considered a trustworthy source of news information by 54 per cent of those polled in the study, while news websites were trusted by 58 per cent of respondents

Newspapers were considered the least trustworthy of the four media sources as  34 per cent of those that took part in the survey agreed that they trusted what they read.

The survey interviewed 1,824 adults across the UK.
