FoI request reveals BBC’s £14m taxi bill

The BBC spent £13.8m last year on taxis, according to figures released by the corporation under the Freedom of Information Act.

According to the Daily Mail, the BBC spent £5.3m on transporting contributors for programmes, £4m on taking staff to shifts during unsociable hours and £4.5m ferrying staff from place to place on “routine business”.
