Newcastle editor publishes first edition of ‘journalese’ dictionary

Graeme Whitfield has published the first edition of his “Journalese-English Dictionary” on his Newscastle Journal blog.

Among the clichéd terms of journalists’ jargon that the Journal’s assistant news editor skewers are: “tot”, “slammed”, “ace”, “quizzed” and my personal favourite, “fury”.

Does anyone other than journalists actually use any of these terms?
