The Times has claimed a victory in bringing about a U-turn in the Government’s proposed laws on stem-cell research, after publishing a letter criticising the move, signed by 30 medical experts.
According to the paper, the Department of Health admitted last week there was “a compelling case” that the proposed law change would “impose a significant burden” on scientists and delay potentially life-saving research.
