Tina Brown will be inducted into the American Society of Magazine Editors’ Hall of Fame on Wednesday.
Speaking to (the US magazine) MediaWeek, Brown described her period editing Condé Nast titles in the US as the “glory years” of magazines.
“It’s definitely harder for magazine editors now, with the intensity of the Internet,” Brown told MediaWeek.
“In the ’90s, at The New Yorker, it was getting more and more intense to break news. If I started something now, it’d be more likely to be online—the cost of distribution and postage is so prohibitive now.”
