Centaur Media has announced its first push into the Chinese market after unveiling a tie up with Hong Kong-based Industrial Communications Group.
The partnership will see ICG publish a Chinese edition of the magazine MWP Advanced Manufacturing, under licence from Centaur.
The magazine will launch in July and will be published six times a year. It will initially be circulated to 15,700 engineering and manufacturing professionals across China.
MWP Advanced Manufacturing – formerly called Metalworking Production – has, according to Centaur, been published in the UK for more than 100 years but this its first international edition.
The magazine will be produced in Hong Kong using content from the UK edition, with additional local content produced by a local editorial team.
Centaur said the agreement marks the beginning of a new international strategy that will see it launch international editions of many of its leading UK titles.
Centaur’s international licensing director Dan King said: ‘I’m very excited about the huge potential for MWP advanced manufacturing in China given the country’s ever increasing reputation for high-end manufacturing, and am extremely impressed with the enthusiasm and commitment shown by ICG”.
Other Centaur titles include: The Lawyer, Money Marketing and Creative Review.
