Future to launch quarterly car technology magazine

Specialist magazine publisher Future is launching a new quarterly magazine aimed at those readers interested in automobile-related technology.

The new magazine – called iCar – will cater for ‘growing consumer interest in more efficient, intelligent and technologically advanced cars’its publishers said today.

The title, which will be produced from Future’s offices in Bath, will launch in 18 May and be edited by technology journalist Jeremy Laird.

The 132-page title will be priced £4.99 and will also be available via the Zinio platform for tablets and iPads.

Gez Jones, associate publisher for Future’s automotive portfolio, said: “The concept for iCar was first developed to fill a small niche in the market but, due to the effect of converging market forces over the last two years; this small gap has grown into a gaping hole.

“iCar will satisfy the need for an authoritative voice on Car 2.0 and be a vibrant environment for consumers interested in ever more efficient and intelligent cars at the cutting edge of automotive design.

“With three revolutions in engine development predicted within the next 30-years, accompanied by a myriad of innovative driver aids and in-car tech systems; iCar has an exciting future ahead building consumer awareness and driving desire.”
