Former Trinity Mirror Regionals digital director Chris Bunyan has been appointed managing director of an online video firm working with regional publishing groups.
Bunyan has joined Localstars, an online video advertising firm, this month to help expand its geo-targeted ad syndication network.
Localstars has created an online portal that allows publishers’ to sell and manage video-led ad campaigns for their advertisers.
Bunyan said: “The digital video ad market is set to rocket over the next few years and Localstars’ system offers publishers a quick, low risk way of tapping into this new and expanding revenue stream.
“Through partnerships with Johnston Press and Thomson Local, amongst others, the Localstars platform expands this opportunity further by making video an accessible, affordable and an efficient promotional tool for all sizes of business.”
Bunyan left Trinity Mirror in August last year as part of an overhaul of its regional publishing division after more than two years heading up its digital operations.
Prior to his appointment in April, 2008 Bunyan had previously worked with Virgin Media and NTL.
