Grazia follows ABC rise with new appointments

By Rachael Gallagher

Fashion weekly Grazia has followed its seventh consecutive ABC rise with an editorial shake up including new appointments.

The Bauer Consumer Media magazine’s beauty department has had two new appointments – Bella Blissett has joined as beauty style writer from the Evening Standard and Eve magazine’s Annabel Jones has been appointed as beauty director.

Three established Grazia editorial staff have had their job descriptions expanded, with style director for Paula Reed taking on a ‘strategic role in developing the magazine’s fashion coverage and direction”.

Siobhan Mallen has been promoted to associate fashion director and will be taking on responsibility for the management of the fashion team and day to day running of the fashion department, also overseeing the fashion pages.

The new positions come after Grazia, which launched in February 2005, posted its seventh consecutive ABC increase in August, up 3.2 per cent year on year for the first half of 2008 to 227,102.
Jane Bruton, editor-in-chief of Grazia, said: “Having passed two major milestones in the last year – being named PPA magazine of the Year and overtaking Vogue in terms of advertising volume – we felt it was time to renew and develop the outstanding talent we have in order to make the most of the exciting opportunities coming our way.”
