Pitch to: Music features to me at tim@dazedgroup.com. Art, film, literature, and political stories to me and the editor, Rod Stanley, at rod@dazedgroup.com.
Type of articles: Personality-led profiles and interesting youth culture from around the world. If you’ve found the next big thing, get in touch. We are also interested in big-name exclusive interviews and features.
Topics: Music, art, film, literature, fashion, politics and technology.
How to pitch: Email is best. Write a short synopsis with related internet links and release dates for albums, films and art exhibitions. We work two months ahead of new releases/opening nights, so pitches should be coming in to us with that timeframe in mind.
Post-pitch: We try to reply to every pitch, but this is often not possible. If we’re interested, you’ll hear from us quickly – but keep trying. Just because we don’t take every story doesn’t mean we don’t like hearing writers’ new ideas.
What will impress: A fresh perspective, exclusive access and original opinions.
What won’t impress: Misinformed and badly written pitches. Please make sure you have read the magazine and are familiar with its tone and different sections.
Pay: We don’t have a great editorial budget, so our rates reflect that. Most of our writers do it for exposure and association with our trusted and respected brand.
Images: No, but supply details so our photo department can source/shoot images.
Any other info: We also have DazedDigital.com, which is all exclusive content. The website is updated daily. Pitches for blogs and features should be submitted to ned@dazedgroup.com.
