River Media has launched a weekly paid-for newspaper – the County Derry Post. River already publishes 10 regional newspapers including the Monaghan Post and Letterkenny Post. The 88-page Derry Post is the publisher’s first title in Northern Ireland and has created 15 new jobs, nine in editorial. It has an initial print run of 10,000. Former Belfast Telegraph and Daily Ireland journalist Ciaran O’Neill is the editor.
