Youth football magazines kick off

By Rachael Gallagher

Two new magazines aimed at coaches, managers, parents and players involved in youth football have been launched.

Total Youth Football offers advice for those involved in grassroots

football and includes contributions from professionals such as Plymouth manager Ian Holloway and former England Ladies’ star Marieanne Spacey. It starts with a launch circulation of 110,000 and will be available from newsagents from the end of this month.

Footie magazine, which is aimed at youth football players, will be distributed to 250,000 players via their clubs and will cover news, education, health, nutrition and lifestyle features for boys and girls.

Kevin Stack, managing director of Total Youth Sport Media, said: ‘Our magazines are designed to support the millions of people involved in grassroots football, including the five million children.”

The magazines are edited by Tim Baynon, and the online editor for two complementary websites is Simon Head.
