PA man Moncrieff has Commons bar named after him

By Press Gazette

The Press Association’s legendary political journalist Chris Moncrieff is to become even more of a permanent feature in the House of Commons by having a new catering area named after him.

The 75-year-old said today he was “hugely honoured” that the media bar and food area was to be called Moncrieffs when it reopened after being refurbished.

The hugely-respected reporter has worked in the Commons since 1962 and was PA’s political editor for 12 years until 1994.

He said he was “tickled pink” at the prospect of seeing his name immortalised in the infamous watering hole.
