Heat journalist Daniel Fulvio is organising a charity concert to raise awareness about youth suicide in the UK.
Fulvio, Heat’s deputy news editor, wanted to do something after his young brother, Steven, committed suicide on Christmas Eve last year. ‘He was just 22, and his death came as a complete shock. Since then, I’ve been desperately searching for a way to make something positive come out of this horrific tragedy,’Fulvio says.
Motivated by the statistic that suicide is one of the main causes of death of males aged between 15 and 34 in the UK, Fulvio has organised Wasted Youth – a special night of live indie rock music to take place at KOKO, Camden on 8 September.
Proceeds will go to CALM, a forward-thinking UK charity aimed at helping males between 15 and 35. ‘Their message is that silent isn’t strong, in the hope it will encourage men to talk about their problems,”says Fulvio.
