The royal editor of the News of the World is due to stand trial at the Old Bailey in July next year on mobile phone hacking charges. Clive Goodman is accused of conspiring to intercept voicemail messages and of intercepting voicemail messages. He is due to appear at the Old Bailey on 29 November for a plea and case management hearing. A provisional trial date has been set for 23 July. Goodman, from Putney, southwest London, did not appear for the brief hearing at the Old Bailey today (Friday) to set the dates. He was arrested after claims by members of the Prince of Wales's household of security breaches in its telephone network.
Glenn Mulcaire, 35, from Sutton, southwest London, who faces the same charges as Goodman, is also due to stand trial on the same date.
