A BBC radio reporter has won compensation from rock star Pete Doherty after she was assaulted while covering his court hearing on drugs charges.
Radio 1 Newsbeat correspondent Trudi Barber had her microphone kung-fu kicked out of her hand by the Babyshambles frontman as he left Thames Magistrates Court in March this year.
Doherty had originally pleaded not guilty to the attack, but changed his plea after seeing video evidence of him lashing out at the reporter. Justice Helen Skinner ordered Doherty to pay £1,200 — including £250 in compensation to Barber.
