BBC Radio Scotland’s flagship news programme, Good Morning Scotland, is to be given a new format in July.
Presenter Gary Robertson, who currently does a morning phone-in, a weekday lunchtime show and a news and current affairs programme on Sunday mornings, will become the new voice of GMS.
Current GMS presenter Derek Bateman is understood to be moving to a new political programme to be broadcast in the evenings.
Jeff Zycinski, head of BBC Radio Scotland, is known to favour more human-interest journalism and public participation on the station, and Robertson represents this approach.
