Joseph headhunted from IPC to edit Brides

By Press Gazette

Condé Nast has poached Deborah Joseph, currently editor of IPC’s Wedding magazine, to edit Brides, the biggest-selling bridal title in the UK.

Joseph was associate editor of Brides’ sister title Glamour for four years, before leaving Condé Nast to spend eight months on the lifestyle section of the Daily Mail.

She then moved on to the editor role at Wedding, which she leaves after just six months.

She will work closely with Liz Savage, current Brides editor, who announced her resignation two weeks ago.

Joseph said: "I’m absolutely thrilled to be coming back to Condé Nast, and having spent six months in the bridal industry, I am really looking forward to starting work on the number one bestselling title."

Nicholas Coleridge, Condé Nast managing director, said: "Deborah is regarded as a journalist and editor of great energy, who rapidly improved Wedding magazine and has quickly built a reputation in the bridal industry."

Brides recorded an ABC figure of 67,060 copies a month in February’s circulation round-up, giving it a 12.5 per cent lead over the number two in the market, You And Your Wedding.

Previous editor Savage won a BSME Editor of the Year award in 2004 for her work at the magazine.
