The Telegraph is seeking to cash in on the success of its fantasy
football competition by launching a mobile phone version of the game at
a cost of £6 per season. The Telegraph game is now in its 11th season
and has a £100,000 prize fund.
Under the mobile phone system
players will be able to view their fantasy football team’s league
standing, make transfers and receive news and fixtures, Telegraph
sports promotions manager Steve Stiles said: “Our game has consistently
led the way over the past decade, first through the newspaper, then
online and now using mobile phone technology.
“During the first
five weeks of this season, our readers have made a staggering 1.2
million transfers within their fantasy teams, so being able to make
these changes via their handsets in future will be a great addition to
our service.”
