Trinity adds two new weeklies to its stable

By Press Gazette

By Sarah Lagan

Trinity Mirror has launched two new free weekly newspapers in
Warwick and Royal Leamington Spa, bringing the company’s total number
of papers in the Midlands to 43.

The Warwick Times and Royal Leamington Spa Times have around 100
pages of news and reviews, as well as motoring, recruitment and
property sections.

Aimed at ABC1 readers, the Times titles will reach 52,000 homes, around 85 per cent of those in the distribution area.

The
papers will be led by group series editor of Coventry Weekly Newspapers
Andrew Punshon and Darren Parkin, editor of the Times titles.

Punshon
said: “We are delighted to be expanding our operation into the
Leamington and Warwick areas, and I am thrilled that Darren has agreed
to edit the papers.”We will give readers papers packed full of
community-based stories that matter to them, and we will endeavour to
be the first with local news and features.”
