The BBC is facing a
fresh industrial row over its decision to supply the Canadia
Broadcasting Corporation with news footage while it deals with its own

CBC locked out 5,500 workers last week after a dispute with trade unions over casualisation and quality.
The NUJ and BECTU have written to the BBC seeking
an urgent meeting over the BBC allowing CBC to use its material to fill
“huge gaps in their news schedules”.
But according to the NUJ, BBC management has refused to meet them and
said it will continue to allow CBC to use as much BBC material as they
want.

in the sand and doing nothing to protect their reputation.

BECTU assistant general secretary Martin Spence
said: “The BBC must make clear its impartiality and address the
perception that it is taking sides in this dispute. The BBC’s
reputation will be badly tarnished if it does not.”
