Highbury sells Real Homes, closes Home

By Press Gazette

Struggling publisher Highbury House has closed a further home
interest magazine, Home, and sold Real Homes to Hachette Filipacchi for
£500,000, as part of its ongoing restructure.

Press Gazette reported last week that Inspirations had been closed, with the loss of at least seven staff jobs.

The
company has also announced that it plans to retain men’s monthly Front
and Gardens Monthly magazine, which it said offered “interesting
development opportunities”.

CEO Mark Simpson said: “The restructuring of Highbury House continues apace.

“The
board is working to create a financially solid publishing business with
a core of profitable titles, which have good market positions and
prospects for growth.”

The purchase of Real Homes will allow Hachette to expand its homes portfolio, which currently consists of Elle Decoration.
