Press Gazette is delighted to be staging the seventh prestigious Magazine Design Awards on Wednesday 2 November.
Independent and large magazine publishers will be fighting it out on an equal basis in various categories.
John
Brown Citrus Publishing won the Magazine of the Year award in 2004 for
Carlos. The judges commented: “This magazine wouldn’t work without the
imagination that has gone into the design. Incredible use of
illustration. It pulls you to put it in your bag.”
Competing on the modern day newsstand is a tough business, as is the equally fierce subscription market.
Ultimately,
the magazine’s total content brings repeat purchase/readership or new
subs, but cover design, illustration, original use of photography and
typography are all critical to the success of any title’s sales and
readership.
The judges of this year’s Magazine Design Awards will
reward and honour the best talent in the British magazine market, which
remains the envy of the world, given its diversity and originality,
both in concept and design.
The Magazine Design Awards attract
entries from designers across the whole of the magazine spectrum,
customer and consumer magazines, business-tobusiness and newspaper
magazines and supplements.
Enter and be there on the night to see whether your magazine is going to take a gong back to the ranch!
Entry forms will be published in Press Gazette in the coming weeks; the closing date is Friday 16 September.
