By Press Gazette

The Financial Times has appointed Andrew Edgecliffe-Johnson as its new media editor.
He will oversee the FT’s global media coverage and will manage the London-based media, telecoms and IT teams.
Edgecliffe-Johnson joined the paper in 1997 as a
UK companies reporter. Since then he has been a correspondent in New
York, a Lex columnist, edited the features section and most recently
has been deputy news editor. He is a graduate of Cambridge University
and holds an MA in Italian and French.
Editor
Andrew Gowers said: “Andrew is one of the FT’s most talented young
journalists and the media editor’s job one of the paper’s most
challenging and exciting roles. I know he will take our media coverage
from strength to strength.”
Former Media Editor Tim Burt left the FT after 16 years in June to join public relations agency Brunswick.
