A journalist who was a trainee just three years ago has been made Daily Mirror showbiz editor.
Jon
Clements was already on the newsdesk and the move will put him in
charge of all the paper’s showbiz output. After completing the Trinity
Mirror graduate trainee scheme Clements, 27, became a staff reporter in
2002. He joined the newsdesk in 2003 as night news editor and was moved
on to the main newsdesk following Richard Wallace’s appointment as
editor in July.
Deputy editor Conor Hanna said: “He’s a fast learner and he’s impressed us with his organisational skills and drive.”
Clements replaces Kevin O’Sullivan, who was made executive editor (features) in July.
