Safety and Health Practitioner , the official magazine of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, has been revamped.
The 28,910-circulation monthly magazine will be covering a wider range of subjects and is aiming to attract new readers such as company directors who have responsibility for health and safety, and environmental professionals.
A page is dedicated to editorial comment and a more comprehensive news section incorporates environmental, European and trade union news issues.
In addition, there is a new career advice section, 40 pages of jobs and a question-and-answer feature with a different recruitment expert’s view each month.
SHP’s editor Godric Jolliffe said: “Safety professionals may have the image of being the pedants with a clipboard, but they certainly don’t have a magazine that matches up to the stereotypical image purveyed in the national media with the relaunch.
“We took the decision to introduce newsstand values into the magazine to reflect the fact that our readers have many different publications, consumer and B2B, competing for their time.
“Distinctive photography, illustrations and clear typefaces and the decision to keep advertising pages separate from editorial, means that readers have a highly accessible magazine.”
