By Press Gazette

A new publication for teachers working and living in London has launched.

Extra Curricular Magazine includes regular profiles on boroughs in London and what it is like to live and work there as a teacher.

The full colour 28-page publication, is published by the Institute of Education and the University of London. Around 20,000 copies will be distributed once a term to all schools, universities, colleges, pupil referral units, teacher training providers and LEAs in London.

There is also a web site at www.xcm.org.uk which hosts discussion forums on general, news and leisure topics.

Emily Clark, who will edit the magazine has worked on local London newspapers and freelanced for national titles including the Times Educational Supplement and the Evening Standard .

The magazine was funded by Gatsby, a charitable arm of Sainsbury’s family trust and comes out this week.
