Express titles on the up in Scotland

By Press Gazette

Express Newspapers’ three titles in Scotland are buoyant.

June ABC figures show the Scottish Daily Express, at 82,429, is up 4.8 per cent year-on-year, and its sales were up for the fifth month this year.

The Scottish Sunday Express is up 10.7 per cent to 58,798, and the Scottish Daily Star is a stunning 43 per cent up on June last year with a sale of 93,233.

David Hamilton, editor of the Scottish Daily Express, told Press Gazette: “The June circulation figures highlight the excellent year the Scottish Daily Express is having.

“A 4.8 per cent year-on-year increase is a great performance in a very competitive market, and comes at a time when our main competitors all lost sales.

“In fact all our titles in Glasgow are doing well. The Scottish Sunday Express is up 10.7 per cent year-onyear, while the Daily Star is up 43 per cent year-on-year – to 93,233.”
