Clyde & Forth Press has taken on two new editors to head its flagship titles north and south of the border.
Editor of the Slough and Windsor Observer Martin Biddle is leaving to edit the Greenock Telegraph and will be replaced by Maidenhead Advertiser subeditor Sally Stevens.
Biddle said he was excited by the prospect of moving from a weekly title to a daily publication, having never worked fulltime on one before. He said: “I was looking for a new challenge.
It will be great to gain new experience, not only to be working on a daily but essentially moving to a different country.”
Biddle joined the company as a trainee in 1996 and by 2000 he was deputy editor in Slough, making editor a year later.
Stevens is a former editor and publisher of the Slough and Windsor Express but left after it was taken over by Trinity Mirror.
She said: “I will now be working in head-on competition with my previous paper, the Express, so it raises the game for all of us. The whole team here is buzzing and full of ideas so I will work with all of them to help increase circulation and the profile of the paper in this community.”
Biddle takes up his position on 2 August and Stevens replaces him on 23 August.
