Future has new DJ-ing magazine

By Press Gazette

Future has launched a one off title dedicated to DJ technology.

Digital DJ targets 16 to 20-year-old music lovers who are either learning to DJ or are long-time vinyl DJs and want to start DJ-ing with CDs.

The 100 page title is co-edited by Ian Harris and Oz Owen.

It features a mix of news as well as tips on playing gigs for the first time and listings of this year’s music festivals.

It’ll answer questions like should DJ’s use earplugs and feature a list of MP3 download sites and CD turntables – including interviews with DJs like Adam Freeland and Eddie Halliwell.

Harris said the launch was an ideal complement to Future Music magazine and was aimed at a market that’s been largely ignored by DJ magazines.

“Most of the magazines around are very much focused on traditional vinyl turntables, but if you’re a firsttime DJ you won’t want to invest thousands in equipment that’s only got two or three years left,” he said.

Digital DJ’s launch will be promoted through Future’s existing titles and the clubbing site https://ukClubbing.com.
