Avalon, producers of the musical Jerry Springer The Opera, is suing the Daily Mail after it published a claim that the show is losing money.
Avalon claims the report was grossly inaccurate and booking for the show has been extended to January 2005.
The company said in a statement: “We are seeking special damages and compensation. The Daily Mail has offered no defence and admitted its error.” The paper printed an apology but Avalon said no legal settlement had been reached. No one at the Mail was available for comment.
