BBC builds on TV property success

By Press Gazette

BBC Magazines is hoping to tap into the current obsession with property through the launch of special one-shot Dream Homes, writes Ruth Addicott.

The title, due out next week, has been put together by BBC Good Homes editor Lisa Allen and her team.

Dream Homes will feature a selection of 30 homes from period town houses and urban apartments to country hideaways and seaside retreats.

BBC Magazines said it was just a one-off but if sales prove a success, it could turn into a regular publication.

Publisher Brian Whittaker said the aim was to tap into the huge interest in property as shown by the success of TV shows such as Location, Location, Location and Property Ladder. “Dream Homes satisfies a yearning to discover that perfect property you would love to live in as well as revealing a fantastic source of inspiration and ideas for where you live now,” he said.

It will have a print run of 120,000 and a cover price of £3.30. Copies will be on sale throughout the UK.
