Reshuffle for Bridgwater Mercury

By Press Gazette

The Bridgwater Mercury has had an editorial reshuffle following the departure of news editor Sean Smith and reporter Kim Harris.

Simon Angear, who was previously working as a football writer for the Derbyshire-based Raymond’s Press Agency, has replaced Smith as news editor.

Angear was born in Weston and has previously worked on the Weston and Worle News. Edward Keating has joined as a reporter. He began his journalism career at the Bristol Evening Post and then spent three years at the Weston & Somerset Mercury.

Reporter Sarah Boobyer has returned to the news desk after five months on a Darlington training course, while Vicky Brook is leaving to undergo similar training. She will return in the New Year. Rory Stamp has graduated as a senior reporter after passing his NCE exams.
