Journalists at Newsquest Bradford have decided not to go back on strike.

However, the NUJ chapel is continuing to reject the management’s January pay offer of 2 per cent.

Union members have written to managers asking them to consider again going to binding arbitration under Acas or to have further local talks.

Father of the chapel, Bob Smith, said: “The ball is back in management’s court; we are not taking any action at the moment. Our members have suffered a lot financially and I don’t think it’s fair to ask them to suffer any more at present.

“We’ve had 43 days of strike action and that has hit people’s pockets quite severely.”
